UTF-8 and question marks

UTF-8 and question marks

I'm using PHP 4.3.10 & MySQL 4.1.9.



When I read UTF-8 string from database and echo it to the page I get


only question marks. The number of question marks is equal to the real


length of the string (not doubled as I would expect).



Where is the problem?
