Hi,
According to what Ulrich explained, the use of IxTclHal and the other
related issues ("console" command etc.) could be solved with Tclsh 8.3.
Indeed, even wish84 does not work with IxTclHal package whereas wish83
does. Since I'm trying to make Tclsh support the same package that has
been originally built for wish, maybe Tclsh83 can do that.
Anyway, I had alreay tried through the webpages you mentioned (and I've
just tried again) but the hyperlinks to the pre-compiled versions (8.3
binaries from ActiveState) actually redirect to the Download page of
version 8.4!
I didn't find a way to download the binary for 8.3.
I've just sent an e-mail to ActiveState support to ask for help on
this. I'm waiting for an answer.
My intention is to try Tclsh8.3 and see the results, and afterwords
I'll get in touch with Ixia support and explain the whole issue.
