Scrolling a text widget to a specific position

Is there a quick method to scroll a text widget to a certian index?


More specifically, have it center that index? The "see" method does not


work correctly for me. Often times, the text will be "just" out of


range. Also, I would like to always center the specified index, or


always make it at the top, or always at the bottom, etc.
