Sorry, I misunderstood this as if you meant that a tclkit 85a3
already existed.
I'm aware that the tclkit-folks are different folks than the
tcl/tk folks, and that one of these groups does not necessarily
have the ressources to always track the changes of the other
group immediately.

Yes, I can understand that. Since it was about a prog that I couldn't
run against plain tclsh/wish, I had no way to know if this has been
fixed already. I couldn't even exclude that this could have been
a tclkit-specific bug altogether. All I could do is write which
version of which program had a bug, and hope that someone could
give me some info, or someone else tell me where to report, or even
someone from equi4 read it and publish a 8.5a3-version....
I'll just (manually) monitor the tclkit-download-page for a while,
and use either the latest stable version for foreign code, or
the broken 8.5a2 for 8.5-specific stuff of my own - now aware that
bugs in that prog are of no interest to the tcl/tk-folks.
