There are some questions I just know I'm going to regret asking, but
still I ask them anyway: What do you think "brownie point" means?

To the best of my knowledge it refers to merit points earned by
"pre-girl scouts" aka (in the UK at least) brownies (due I suspect to
their all brown uniform).
