Is your posting intended to indicate that this kind of tracing is
not possible, or only that it is not -probable- ?

What governments and private companies choose to spy on is often
seemingly irrational. And unfortunately there is a long history
in the USA of expending large efforts to root out and punish
corporate whistleblowers.
