Netgear FR114 (FR114W) Wake On LAN / Magic Packet?

I'm running a server at home, but I don't want to leave it running all
the time because of power consumption. A more experienced tech
suggested that I buy a Netgear FR114 router (specifically, I found a
cheap FR114W) because it supported LAN-side multicast/broadcasting. In
theory, I should be able to send a magic packet to wake my server; in
practice, I've found that the router is dropping that packet.

Anyone else tried/succeeded in getting the magic packet or any other
WOL techniques to work?
