Firewall for Laptop

I have become tired of the constant hogging Zonealarm free is doing to


my laptop.  Every 10 (or less) seconds the hard drive and CPU usage


peak as zlclient or vsmon do their thing.  I have been following their


usage with sysinternals FileMon and every time I glance back at the


screen Zonealarm is there hogging up room.  It is fine for my desktop,


but when I am on the road I do not want an obtrusive firewall.  Plus,


in quiet rooms the constant hard drive activity from zonealarm becomes


quite irritating.  Any suggestions of a nice, compact yet comprehensive


firewall ideal for a laptop user?  Any help or suggestions are


appreciated.
