Here is my summary:

(1) You asked for advice.
(2) You got some advice.
(3) You didn't like the advice you got.
(4) Rather than pay attention to the advice you got, you are
ignoring the good advice you've got.
(5) You're trying to rationalize this based on some assumption
about the personal character of the people giving you advice
(e.g., that they are "pessimists" -- as if that were relevant to
the accuracy of their advice).
(6) Now you want advice, but only if it agrees with your own
preconceptions, whether those preconceptions are accurate or not.

Why bother asking a question here if you've already decided you're
not going to listen to the answers you get?
