There are lots of types of problems which are 'connected to factoring', as
you so put it. Actually getting any factoring done is a different matter.

You proved (with some help) some trivial fact about quadratic residues,
worth of a homework assignment. You then stated a whole bunch of what-ifs
which have no supporting evidence.

It's only nontrivial if it actually gives you something (hence
