hiya paul,

i understand your concerns.

the slightly worrying thing is that, after selecting the
initial key with only one bit set (and the rest all zeros),
i am using the encrypted output as the key for a new
encrypt.

[okay - that's what i'm _trying_ to test - whether my code
actually does test that or not is what i am trying to
establish!]

okay ... i think i've spotted a flaw in the code... the
loop sets the initial key only the first time in the
analyse loop. will get back to you on what i find...
